HIS FAMILY NEEDS TO BE TREATED WITH KINDNESS
Despite improvements in recent years, mental illnesses are still subject to significant stigma. This has detrimental consequences for those affected, but also for their families and friends: decreased self-esteem, social isolation, marginalization, etc.
Young people with close ties to their families are often very sensitive to feelings of stigmatization. If they don't feel goodwill towards their family, they will, out of loyalty, protect their family from outside criticism, at the risk of isolating themselves.
"Although the stigmatization of people with mental health conditions has decreased in recent years, it remains very significant. It can lead to discriminatory behavior, denial of rights, judgment, and a lack of compassion."
