OUR APPROACH

Contemporary psychiatry makes the home the center of gravity of care. As a result, those who live there are affected, to varying degrees and in different roles.

EtincellesandCo shifts away from a disease-centered medical model to favor a family-centered approach. From this perspective, the person who is ill is considered first and foremost as a parent experiencing mental health difficulties, or as a sibling experiencing mental health difficulties.

Etincelles & Co. places the child, adolescent, and young adult at the center of its thinking. The term "young person close to you" goes beyond the social role of caregiver and reflects Etincelles & Co.'s ethical stance, which believes that support should not be contingent on a young person's output, but rather on the fact that they are in a difficult life situation requiring special attention.

In this shift in perspective, Etincelles & Co. supports a polyphonic approach where every person matters and every voice is heard. All voices have their place on this site, even if they may seem dissonant or even contradictory. For it is by encouraging the expression of viewpoints that we can support recovery within families.
